and medical, however experience is not necessary (we will find a job for you).
- The Team
will be traveling to our SC Synods Companion, the Southwest Diocese of the ELCT, in
Magoye, Tanzania. Magoye is the village in which the Office of the Bishop of the Southwest
Diocese is located.
- Trip information:
- The team
will be lead by Cathy Milejczak and Susan Lanford.
- The team
will depart on Wednesday June 28 and return on Thursday July 13th.

- Team
members will be asked to attend training sessions (dates to be announced later).
- The team
members will stay either in a guest house or in a Tanzanian Host family home. Please note
that the Diocese is a very remote area. The Diocese headquarters building does have
electricity, and one land telephone not capable of making transatlantic calls. The homes
of our Tanzanian friends do not have electricity or phones, or other comfort items that we
Americans are accustomed to. The Diocese is located in the mountains where the temperature
is very pleasant. However, we will be there in the winter when the daytime is cool and the
nights are chilly. The area also has plenty of water and has a very
beautiful landscape.
- Each
team member will be involved in a project identified by the Diocese in Tanzania. We will
be working side by side with Tanzanians on their projects.
- Please
note that each Team member will be responsible for all expenses. The cost of the
transportation, lodging and meals will be paid in advance to the travel agent. The only
remaining cost will be incidentals while traveling.
We will schedule Team Member meetings to prepare you for the Mission
Trip to Tanzania and we will cover everything that you will need to know and what to bring
with you. You will be prepared for the trip!
