Lutheran Disaster Response
We help to bring God’s comfort, healing and renewal to those affected by disasters. Even after the dust settles and the headlines change, we stay -- providing ongoing assistance to those in need. Your gifts make a difference.
Lutheran Disaster Response accepts donations that are used in direct aid to those who have suffered from hurricanes. The LDR network is nationwide--as well as active in the Caribbean--so it can respond to disasters anywhere in the country.

The Red Cross asks: Can you volunteer to staff a shelter if needed?

The American Red Cross of Central South Carolina needs volunteers to staff shelters during coastal evacuations. Anyone can volunteer – all that is needed is a desire to help. To sign up for emergency volunteer training, call (803) 251-6104 or e-mail columbiasc@usa.redcross.org . Volunteers may fill out preliminary volunteer paperwork online at http://www.centralscredcross.org . All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money form the American people. You can help the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disaster. The American Red Cross honors donor intent.
