As the synod’s Director of Communications, I use electronic and printed publications to get information and resources to you as efficiently as possible, and to help you tell your stories to others.

THE SC LUTHERAN:  I edit the SC Lutheran, published six times a year, highlighting your ministries and offering you new ideas as you read about what’s going on in other congregations. To subscribe, contact Jenny Spearen at the synod office. Reach her at jenny@scsynod.com or 803-765-0590.

I also edit our four-page quarterly SC Synod Supplement to THE LUTHERAN magazine.

E-NEWS:  I send out a weekly electronic newsletter, free to anyone who wants it. It provides up-to-the-minute information about coming events, direct links to flyers, event information, the synod’s calendar, and much more; and each week’s e-news ends with a chuckle! Sign up at the Synod’s Web site (www.sclutheran.org) by entering your e-mail address in the box that’s provided on the first page.

I maintain the Synod’s Web site and the Synod’s Facebook page.

Web site:  I try to make our Web site user-friendly for “people in the pews” like me. The Web site calendar has links to documents, flyers and registration forms that can be downloaded to your own computer. You will find information about our synod, and quick links to connect you with resources that are available on the ELCA’s Web site.

At Synod Assembly time, you’ll find me at the audiovisual table, working to keep the projected images flowing smoothly on those big screens.
